SASS raise £700 From Their Christmas Shoot
This year we had 12 members attend the annual Christmas Shoot, which was held at Popham. A big shout-out to the owners for helping support and accommodate us for a 100 bird layout over 10 stands. There were prizes up for grabs for the highest actual, highest with handicap and runner up with handicap. There were also some festivities after the shoot and food and drink were provided by the club for all those who attended. Another big shout-out to Big Mac for organising the whole day.
This year we did a few extra things to try and raise further funds for such a great charity. These included the following;
- Christmas Hamper Raffle.
- Guess the Cartridges Competition.
- Auction.
- Shoot Raffle.
- Other Donations.
THE HAMPER:
This year to help raise the funds Dynamite and his wife built up a lovely Christmas hamper that was raffled at the Southampton Arms. A huge thank you to Martina and her staff for driving the sales of the tickets. The hamper was eventually won by Mr N. Arnold so congratulations to him and thank you for the support. The hamper raised a massive £325.
GUESS THE CARTRIDGES:
After the shoot Robbo organised a guess the cartridges competition where all the proceeds went to the charity and the winner got to keep the actual cartridges donated by Robbo himself. Congratulations Badger who was the closest with a guess of 69, there were actually 67 so a good effort and well done to all.
OVERAL:
With these special events and the usual raffle after the shoot where everyone wins a prize and all prizes are donated by the members, we raised a massive £700.
