Empress Shield 2026
Popham Hosts This Years Competition.
We saw a great turnout of 11 members for this years Empress Shield, sponsored by it’s creator Unick & held at Popham in the format of a team event. The teams consisted of 2 members both shooting 60 clays and the winners were decided with handicaps. Only 6 points separated the teams with all teams hitting the desired 100 with handicap.
The results were as follows (all scores are equated to 50).
| PLACE | TEAM MEMBERS | SCORES | HANDICAPS | TOTAL (100) | ACTUAL (120) |
| 1st | Unick & Badger | 41 & 43 | 15 & 12 | 111 | 100 |
| 2nd | Sturat & Dynamite | 44 & 36 | 9 & 18 | 107 | 96 |
| 2nd | Spiced & Albert | 43 & 37 | 13 & 14 | 107 | 96 |
| 4th | Big Mac & Robbo | 39 & 39 | 14 & 15 | 107 | 92 |
| 5th | Hunter & Pikey | 41 & 40 | 13 & 11 | 105 | 97 |
This year Pikey didn’t manage to retain the trophy, he was unfortunitely last in the standings. A huge congratulations to Unick and Badger who took the prize of £120, shield and the title.
Once again a huge thank you to Unick for not only creating this event over 10 years ago but for again sponsoring the event, choosing the format & providing a very generous prizes.
